Hey there! I’m a professional graphic artist transplanted in the greater Boston area, previously from New York. I’m currently working as a jack-of-all-trades designer for Active Interest Media, specifically for SAIL and Power & Motoryacht magazines. What I do here quite a bit of everything – predominately design for our advertisers and editorial projects, with marketing, web, color correction, and production thrown in for flavor. But that’s the boring stuff – you can take a look at my full resume for more.
Although I currently work in the marine publishing (still can’t discern aft from stern after all these years), I’m hoping to eventually advance my career into a industry that feels closer to home. Doing what exactly, I don’t know, but slaying dragons and designing fancy logos in one swing sounds pretty good.
I consider myself a serial creative hobbyist by night – I dabble in way too many hobbies for my own good. I enjoy writing and blogging, traditional art like illustration and painting, web development, photography, social media, knitting, cooking, adding to my already too-large tea collection, and, of course, cute animals.
I seriously own way too much tea, and you can throw art supplies and sketchbooks into the category “things Isa is cut off from buying any more of.” I’m in the process of setting up an Etsy shop to sell some of my arts and crafts!
Otherwise I’m kind of a geek. I enjoy video games, sci-fi movies, some tv shows, reading all sorts of books, and philosophizing on the nature of black holes and parsnips (so delicious). Science, man. Science.
The Nitty Gritty
You can find me all over, but predominantly, here’s a good place to start. Feel free to add me to your contacts – I love people, and only slightly less than baby otters.
